Where are we? In the heart of Tuscany, tucked away in beautiful hills

Le Capanne organic farm is immersed in the greenery of the Tuscan countryside and ideally located between Florence, Pisa and Siena. You will find yourselves in the heart of  the countryside, tucked away in the enchanting hills but, at the same time, just a short drive from some of Tuscany’s most beautiful places such as San Gimignano and Volterra (find more on the map).
We deeply value and respect the privacy of our guests but at the same time we are happy to share suggestions and tips about our area and its amenities. Our family house is within a 3 minute walk of the agriturismo and we are always around in case you need anything or just feel like a chat.

Tucked away in the hills, but near the most renowned locations

From Le Capanne, you can easily get to Tuscany’s most renowned and historical towns.

It takes about one hour by car or train (the nearest railway station is 18 Km away in Castelfiorentino, with free parking) to reach Florence, Pisa, Siena or the seaside near Livorno.

San Gimignano (18 Km), Volterra (21 Km), Certaldo (26 Km), San Miniato (26 Km), Vinci (41 Km) are all within quick and easy reach.

At only 3 Km away from Le Capanne, it is worth visiting the so-called “Jerusalem of San Vivaldo”, a religious place unique to Italy. The chapels of the Holy Mount of San Vivaldo date back to the 16th century and feature preserved groups of terracotta statues that represent the sacred places and various episodes in the life and Passion of Jesus Christ  (www.sanvivaldointoscana.com).

Only 2 Km away in the lovely little village of Iano, there are two typical restaurants and a useful village shop which stocks a range of everyday items.

In the surrounding area there are several organic and biodynamic farms, which sell their delicious products (do not miss the delicious pasta made with ancient grains!).

From our agriturismo you can go for walks in wonderful woods and enchanting landscapes, perhaps reaching the ruins of an old village (Vignale).

Useful Information

Usual check-in between 2pm and 7pm and check-out by 10am, but other arrangements are possible by prior agreement.

Please behave appropriately to ensure a pleasant stay for all the guests in the three apartments.
